Insurance for chiropractors.
Chiropractic malpractice with board complaint defense, general liability, and office property, for solo and group practices. Coverage for adjustments, therapies, and the supplements you sell.
What chiropractors usually carry
- Chiropractic professional liability
- Licensing board defense
- General liability
- Products liability for supplements
- Office property and X-ray equipment
- Workers’ comp
- Cyber liability
Watch for these in a chiropractic policy
- Neck adjustmentsStroke claims after cervical manipulation can be among the largest a chiropractor faces. Carry limits that fit that risk, and keep signed informed consent on file.
- Services beyond adjustingDry needling and manipulation under anesthesia are often excluded or need to be listed, and scope rules for both vary by state.
- Supplements and productsSupplements, pillows, and braces you sell can fall outside malpractice. Products liability answers if something you sold hurts a patient.
- Board defense limitsA board complaint is more likely than a lawsuit for most chiropractors, yet many policies defend one only up to a modest sublimit. Check the number.
- X-ray and tablesA power surge that ruins an X-ray unit or a decompression table is usually not a property claim. Equipment breakdown covers it.
What landlords and insurance networks ask chiropractors for
- Malpractice limitsNetworks often require $1M per claim and $3M aggregate before they credential you.
- Current declarationsProof of active coverage at every recredentialing.
- Additional insuredYour landlord, on general liability, for the space you lease.
- Event coverageRaces and tournaments where you treat athletes want a certificate naming them.
Questions chiropractors ask
Straight answers.
The questions we hear most, answered plainly.
Does chiropractic malpractice cover the massage therapist in my office?
Only if the policy lists them. Many chiropractic policies can add employed therapists and assistants; independent contractors need their own policy.
What should I do if a patient blames an adjustment for an injury?
Report it to us the day you hear of it, even before a lawsuit. Claims-made policies require prompt notice, and a late report can put coverage at risk.
Do I need tail coverage when I retire?
If your policy is claims-made, yes. A tail keeps covering past treatment after you stop practicing. Some carriers waive its charge at retirement after enough years with them.
How fast can I get a certificate?
Once your policy is bound, you request certificates from your client login, with the wording your contract asks for.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. Most policies can be paid in full or monthly.
