A few quick questions, then we send you your price. Many trades get it in minutes.

What repair shops usually carry

  • General liability, $1M / $2M
  • Customer devices in your care
  • Errors and omissions
  • Cyber and privacy
  • Property and parts
  • Crime
  • Workers’ comp

Watch for these in a repair shop policy

  • Customer devicesPhones and laptops left for repair are not your property, and general liability excludes property in your care. Bailee coverage pays when they are stolen or damaged.
  • Lost dataGeneral liability excludes electronic data. Wiping a customer’s photos or files is an errors and omissions claim.
  • Battery firesSwollen lithium batteries catch fire on the bench and after the repair. A replacement battery that burns at a customer’s home is a completed operations claim.
  • Technician snoopingA technician who browses or copies a customer’s photos creates a privacy claim. Many cyber policies cover it; general liability usually does not.
  • Aftermarket partsScreens and batteries from overseas suppliers with no US presence leave you answering for a defect on your own.

What landlords and business clients ask repair shops for

  • Additional insuredYour landlord or mall, on general liability.
  • Errors and omissionsBusinesses sending you their laptops ask for proof, often at $1M.
  • CyberBusiness clients ask for it before you handle devices that hold their data.

Questions repair shops ask

Straight answers.

The questions we hear most, answered plainly.

How is phone repair shop insurance priced?

Mostly on sales, the value of customer devices in your shop on a typical day, and the work you do. Board-level repair and data recovery rate higher than screens and batteries.

What if a device is damaged in a mail-in repair?

Devices in the mail are in transit and often outside your shop coverage. Ask for bailee coverage that includes transit, or insure each shipment.

Do I need cyber if I never store customer data?

You still touch it. Every phone and laptop on your bench holds someone’s accounts and photos, and a breach of your own systems exposes card and contact data too.

How fast can I get a certificate?

Once your policy is bound, you request certificates from your client login, with the wording your contract asks for.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Most policies can be paid in full or monthly.
