A few quick questions, then we send you your price. Many trades get it in minutes.

What laundromats usually carry

  • General liability, $1M / $2M
  • Property and machines
  • Equipment breakdown
  • Business income
  • Money and securities
  • Bailee coverage for wash and fold

Watch for these in a laundromat policy

  • Dryer firesLint fires are among the most frequent laundromat losses. Carriers often ask how often you clean lint traps, screens, and exhaust ducts.
  • Damage to the space you rentIf a dryer fire spreads to the landlord’s building, the limit for damage to rented premises is often $100,000. Raise it to what the space would cost to rebuild.
  • Unattended hoursMany carriers ask whether an attendant is on site. For a store open around the clock, assault and battery claims may be excluded or capped.
  • Coins and change machinesTheft of coins from washers and change machines is often capped low under property. Crime coverage for money is added on its own.
  • Wash-and-fold ordersCustomer laundry you process is not your property. Without bailee coverage, a lost or ruined order is yours to pay.

What landlords and lenders ask laundromats for

  • Lender loss payeeEquipment loans require the lender listed on your machines.
  • Replacement costLenders often require machines insured at replacement cost, not depreciated value.
  • Business incomeSome lenders require twelve months of business income coverage.
  • Additional insuredThe landlord named on your general liability.

Questions laundromats ask

Straight answers.

The questions we hear most, answered plainly.

Is a customer who slips by the washers covered?

Usually, under general liability. Mats, wet floor signs, and a cleaning log make those claims easier to defend.

Are washers covered if they break down?

Not by standard property, which covers fire, theft, and similar events. Equipment breakdown covers mechanical and electrical failure, plus income lost while machines are down.

How is laundromat insurance priced?

Usually on the value of your machines and building, your revenue, your hours, whether an attendant is on site, and your claims.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Most policies can be paid in full or monthly.
