A few quick questions, then we send you your price. Many trades get it in minutes.

What florists usually carry

  • General liability, $1M / $2M
  • Commercial auto
  • Hired and non-owned auto
  • Property and coolers
  • Spoilage
  • Business income
  • Workers’ comp

Watch for these in a florist’s policy

  • Flowers in the coolerA walk-in that fails the week before a holiday can take your whole stock. Spoilage coverage is often left off unless you ask for it.
  • Installations at venuesArches, hanging installs, and candles at a venue are your work. If one falls or starts a fire, it is your claim, and venues want to see coverage first.
  • Holiday driversExtra drivers at peak holidays often use their own cars. Hired and non-owned auto covers the shop when one of them causes a crash.
  • When a closure hitsLosing the shop the week before a peak holiday costs far more than an ordinary week. Set business income by your busiest month, not a slow one.

What venues and wedding clients ask florists for

  • Additional insuredVenues and planners ask to be named for the event date.
  • Primary and noncontributoryMany venue contracts ask that your policy answer first.
  • Auto liabilityVenues and corporate accounts may ask for proof on your delivery vans.
  • Workers’ compVenues ask for proof your setup crew is covered.

Questions florists ask

Straight answers.

The questions we hear most, answered plainly.

How is florist insurance priced?

Mostly on sales and payroll, the number of delivery vehicles, and how much event work you do. Installations at venues often rate higher than counter sales and deliveries.

Is damage to a venue during setup covered?

Damage you cause to a venue is usually a general liability claim. Property you are holding or working on can be limited, so ask what your policy says before you install.

Are my flowers covered in the van?

Stock in transit is often covered only up to a small limit. If you move a full wedding order in one trip, ask for a transit limit that fits it.

How fast can I get a certificate?

Once your policy is bound, you request certificates from your client login, with the wording your contract asks for.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Most policies can be paid in full or monthly.
