Watch for these in a carpet cleaning policy

  • The carpet you are cleaningDye bleeding, shrinkage, and seams that come apart can be excluded as damage to the very property you are working on. Some cleaning programs add a limit back.
  • Rugs at your plantArea rugs in your van or your wash plant belong to your customers, and general liability excludes property in your care. Bailee coverage pays when one is ruined, lost, or stolen.
  • Truckmount valueA truckmount can be worth more than the van it sits in. Rate the auto on the full value of both, or schedule the unit on its own, so a total loss is not paid short.
  • Over-wetting and moldCarpet left too wet can grow mold under the pad weeks later. Many policies exclude mold or cap it at a low limit.
  • Flood and water extractionEmergency water extraction after a leak or flood is restoration work. Many carpet cleaning policies exclude it or rate it separately, so list it if you take those calls.
