Insurance for pressure washing and soft-wash companies.
General liability, auto, workers’ comp, and equipment coverage for power washing, soft washing, and roof cleaning crews, including the chemical runoff and water intrusion claims this work brings.

Watch for these in a pressure washing policy
- Roof cleaningSoft washing a roof is work at height, and some pressure washing policies exclude roofs or cap how high you may work. Make sure roof cleaning is on the policy by name.
- Chemical runoffBleach runoff that kills landscaping or reaches a storm drain can fall under the pollution exclusion. Ask whether your policy gives any of it back.
- Water forced insideDriving water behind siding, through window seals, or into a wall is a classic pressure washing claim. Some policies cap or exclude interior water damage from exterior washing.
- Surfaces you washEtched glass, stripped paint, and furred wood on the surface you are washing can be excluded as damage to the property you are working on. A neighbor’s car is a different claim.
- Fleet washingWashing trucks and equipment at a customer’s yard is often rated apart from building washing. Tell us if you do it, or it may not be on the policy.

Questions pressure washing companies ask
Straight answers.
The questions we hear most, answered plainly.
Is soft washing roofs covered under a pressure washing policy?
Only if the policy allows roof work. Many do, some exclude it, and some limit the height. Tell us you clean roofs and we quote it that way.
What happens if my chemicals kill a customer’s plants?
It is property damage, but the pollution exclusion may apply to the chemical that did it. A policy with a pollution buyback, or a separate pollution policy, is what pays.
How is pressure washing insurance priced?
On revenue or payroll, your share of roof and commercial work, and the chemicals you use.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. Most policies can be paid in full or monthly.
