- Chemical injuriesA swimmer burned or sickened by chemicals you added can fall under the pollution exclusion. Pool service programs often give that back. Make sure yours does.

- Draining and acid washingAn emptied pool can crack or lift out of the ground. Some policies exclude draining and acid washing, or damage to the pool you are working on.
- Repairs and installsReplacing heaters, running gas lines, and rebuilding equipment pads is contracting work. Some service-only policies exclude it, or cover pumps and filters but not gas.
- Lifeguards and pool managementStaffing lifeguards or running a community pool is a different business. Pool service policies usually exclude it.

Questions pool service companies ask
Straight answers.
The questions we hear most, answered plainly.
Am I covered if a swimmer gets sick after I treat the pool?
Only if your policy covers chemical injury. Many exclude it under the pollution wording, so ask to see the pool chemical coverage in writing before you buy.
Does pool service insurance cover equipment repairs?
If repairs are on the policy. Pump and filter work usually is. Heater and gas line work is often rated on its own or excluded, so list everything your techs do.
How is pool service insurance priced?
On revenue or payroll, how many pools you service, how many are commercial, and whether you do repairs as well as cleaning.
How fast can I get a certificate?
Once your policy is bound, you request certificates from your client login, with the wording your contract asks for.
