Watch for these in a welding policy

Hot work warrantiesSome policies require a hot work permit, a fire watch, and an extinguisher on every job. Skip one and a fire claim can be denied.
Structural weldingStructural work on buildings, towers, or bridges is rated far above repair and ornamental work, and some policies exclude it. Your policy should name the work you do.
Customer equipmentA trailer, tractor, or machine you weld on is in your care, which general liability excludes. You need bailee coverage for it, in your shop or in the field.
Parts you make and sellTrailer hitches, racks, and structural parts you fabricate for sale are a products exposure. Some welding policies cover installed work only.
